Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide made from vegetables starch by partial hydrolysis. Maltodextrin is used as common filler in food industries for fulfilling the weight of powder premixes product or increase the dry matter in liquid beverages products which slightly affect the product properties. Maltodextrins are classified by DE (dextrose equivalent). The higher the DE value, the shorter the glucose chains, the higher the sweetness, the higher the solubility, and the lower heat resistance.
